Scott
Cornelius is the owner/principal of Scott Cornelius Architect, PC
and SC Design Studio, an Architecture and Interiors firm based in
New York City, established in 1998. Mr. Cornelius received his undergraduate
and graduate degrees from North Carolina State University located
in Raleigh, N.C.; after which he moved to New York City to begin his
Architectural and Design career. Mr. Cornelius was a Senior Designer
for Alan Wanzenberg and the late Jed Johnson for eleven years completing
a large number of the firm’s most acclaimed residential and
resort commissions including the well know Vermont resort of Twin
Farms. Mr. Cornelius has continued his working relationships with
Twin Farms, and several other clients after founding his own firm.
Mr. Cornelius also offers a line of Home Furnishings including Lighting,
Furniture, and Fabrics through SCDS Ltd.: available directly to the
trade, and through selective trade showrooms, as well as commissioned
work for clients.
Mr. Cornelius’s firms offer a comprehensive range of design
services from complete Architectural and Interior Design packages
to limited Architectural services in conjunction with outside Interior
Designers or other professionals. Mr. Cornelius is happy to work in
conjunction with other professionals to realize a client’s vision
with a team best fitting the client’s needs.
The focus of the firm’s work is to provide the highest degree
of design resolution and quality of design and craftsmanship for each
project regardless of project size. The style and character of the
firm’s work is varied and grows out of the local traditions,
the site and the owner’s personal dreams and desires. Mr. Cornelius’s
desire is to create work both current and referential, rooted in its
time and location and meeting or exceeding the client’s program
and desires.
Mr. Cornelius
is a member of the American Institute of Architects, as well as the
National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He also currently
has Architectural Licenses in New York, Connecticut and Vermont. |
